High-tech to touch: The M Performance Interior Kit consists of the cover for the DKG gear selector, the corresponding centre console cover and the handbrake handle. Its noble material mix of open-pore carbon and Alcantara conveys an exclusive motorsport feeling, both visually and haptically. The interior kit is the perfect extension to the standard equipment.

Scope of delivery:
 

• 1 BMW M Performance carbon fibre gear selector knob for M dual-clutch transmission.
• 1 Centre console frame trim for gear selector.
• 1 handbrake handle without Alcantara bellows. (standard bellows can be used!).

Material:
 

• High-tech material to touch, the open-pored carbon structure.
• Alcantara offers a consistently pleasant feel at all temperatures.
• Material information: The carbon perimeters are produced by hand. The cutting and draping of the fabric layers, the curing process of the plastic matrix and the milling of the raw parts takes several hours. A special challenge is the subsequent lacquering. To enhance the unmistakable depth effect of the carbon fabric, the components are painted several times. Each individual coat of paint has to be dried and then sanded. After the final coat of paint has been applied, the carbon part is polished to a high gloss (except for the open-pored carbon versions). The carbon components are qualified in accordance with the applicable BMW standard. This is the only way to ensure that the high requirements, e.g. with regard to ageing and temperature resistance, are met without cracking or paint peeling from the substrate and that yellowing of the matrix is avoided. This high degree of manual work and qualification effort is responsible for the price.
