Original BMW air filters are precisely matched to each individual BMW engine. Filter capacity, air volume, air temperature and air flow rate are precisely matched to each individual engine variant. These form an essential prerequisite for reducing intake noise, low flow losses, trouble-free combustion processes in the engine as well as favorable consumption values and a reduction in emissions.
Function in detail.
Air filters ensure that the dust and dirt contained in the intake air is kept away from the engine and that it is always supplied with clean air in sufficient quantities.In addition to cleaning the intake air, the air filter has other important functions:
- The intake air temperature and the crankcase ventilation are regulated.
- Air filters affect the engine noise, the combustion processes in the engine and the composition of the exhaust gases.
